How to style your favourite jeans into Spring!

For the woman whose daily uniform consists of 'jeans and a nice top'...this blog is for you!
We all love our denim - it's versatile, hard wearing, functional and stylish. Be it with a breton stripe tee, chic tailored blazer or romantic silk blouse, your jeans are always there by your side, ready to work hard for you in your wardrobe. The only limiting factor perhaps of jeans, is how to wear them as the weather warms up!
Well, we've got some good news! Thanks to evolving, high tech fabrics, denim has moved on from the raw, thick and heavy weight fabric of old to now being able to offer a range of weights, stretch and support. And we couldn't be more grateful...
There are a few ways you can go here with your jeans as we move into Spring/Summer. We recommend to our clients to invest in a few different pairs as we move into warmer weather- something for the day, for night and an all-rounder! Here are the best options for you and how to style them:
For those super steamy, humid days in High Summer, when it's too hot even for a dress... you need this jean! It feels more like a soft, breathable cotton than your traditionally denim and is cut like a slim leg chino. With a comfortable amount of stretch and luxurious cotton, lyocell blend, you will feel cool running around in these pants. Pair back with a linen singlet and strappy flats and you're ready for the heat wave!
For those crisp mornings, cool evenings and breezy afternoons...sometimes the weather still calls for a pair of jeans for a little extra coverage! You don't want to pull out your thick black jeans or super clingy skinny jeans, it just wouldn't feel right. The answer here is a slim straight leg from our new designer, 7 For All Mankind! They have a style that feels like you're barely wearing anything at all, yet somehow (magically!) it offers an amazing amount of sculpting and support. This high rise style in a classic blue can take you from lunch to dinner.
The boyfriend jean has been on the scene for sometime now and you can find anything from an acid washed, ripped look to a super sleek slim leather style... Why do we love it for now? The super relaxed, slouchy silhouette gives you plenty of room to move and looks great with a linen tee or button up. This is a great laid back style for those breezy nights at the coast with wedges!
It feels SO amazing to inject a little pop of colour into our wardrobes as we head into Spring/Summer! Perfect for trans seasonal styling, wearing something like a soft cotton jean in bright, bold orange will instantly change the vibe of your go-to navy sweater and sneakers. Refresh your wardrobe with a bold choice of colour and choose a lightweight fabric so you can get the most wear out of your statement jeans. If you're feeling really daring, why not try colour blocking for maximum impact with minimal effort.
An all-time classic pick for a Summer jean is the clean, crisp and ever-so-chic white denim jean. For this season's colour palette of khaki, navy, creams and the odd splash of pink and red, we would recommend choosing a slightly off-white tone rather than a bright, optic white. It will not only pair back more easily into your existing wardrobe, but it's a more flattering hue! White jeans can be a little scary, so we would pick a mid weight denim in a straight leg! If you really want a lightweight fabric, choose a leg that is more relaxed so it's not going to be clingy on the thigh (like the first jean in this article! It comes in white!).
So! There you go! There are SO many ways to wear your jeans into the warmer seasons. Remember, always choose a style and fit that suits your body shape more than what just happens to be trending at the time. Be conscious of the weight of your denim, the silhouette of the leg and what kind of a twist is lacking in your wardrobe so you start filling those gaps with new pieces you LOVE!
