The SOCIAL Season
The ‘Social Season’ has officially arrived! Whilst it’s all very exciting to have our calendars filling up, it can raise the issue of “what do I wear?!” Let’s be honest here, your favourite jeans & shirt won’t really do the job for Christmas Drinks with the girls or when you’re off to the Theatre…and hey, maybe it would be fine for that Summer BBQ, but you probably feel like wearing a cool, cotton dress instead!
Turn heads in this KNOCK OUT dress. A luxurious gold & black brocade fabric has been cut in a flattering, classic silhouette that will tuck in slightly at the waist and then fall into a soft A-Line skirt. Add a modern edge by accessorising with contrasting textures. Our choice (and Megan Markle’s too, btw) is this black velvet clutch. It ties in well with the grosgrain ribbon around the waist and the sheer panelled pumps.
You’re off to ‘Brunch’ but you also know that you need to shake up your morning look because the Barista at your local has started commenting on what must be your favourite chambray shirt. Here’s what you do: shock them all in a pair of red, wet look panelled jeans & a colourful embroidered top. Next step: double iced latte, please!
This ensemble is the answer to all those birthday parties where they insist on giving you no dress code but you secretly know that jeans & a linen shirt probably won’t cut the mustard. Keep your look monochromatic – it’s a chic style statement but won’t cross any lines. The lustrous shine on this oversized tote looks fab against the textured cotton dress & the navy platforms give you height & that ‘cool factor’.
Off to the Ballet? There are some stunning productions on show at the moment, but putting your best pointe forward has never been so tricky. The dress code has fallen dramatically from the days of diamonds, fur & razzledazzle…the plus side is, you can now invest in a dress you might actually wear again! The pleated skirt on this LBD gives a nod to balletic attire and the beaded embroidery allows you to easily add pops of colour to stand out from the inevitable sea of black. Break a leg!
Finally – the weather has turned and we are well into summer…think long weekends at Noosa & spontaneous hikes through the hinterland! To keep your summer look practical without having to compromise on your personal style, here are some tips… Choose tailored pants with a belt – these ones are mid thigh in a light cotton & look great with relaxed, Parisian-esque espadrilles. Upgrade from a classic white Tee with this embroidered piece that looks really cute with statement earrings. Summer’s never looked so chic.
We’re in loveeee with this Cobalt Blue shirt – put it with a pair of crisp white trousers & knot it up at the front if you’re feeling a little bit fancy. This ensemble is a lovely balance of colour popping, smart tailoring and statement accessories. You can wear this to any of your long lunches & be confident that you’re outfit is on point.
Party Time! For those Saturday nights when you secretly wish you were staying at home with a pizza but realistically need to be turning up bushy tailed & starry eyed at the party- you need a dress that is going to make you feel like a million dollars. THIS IS IT! It’s got swing, it’s got glitter, it’s got DOTS. Slip into this little number and dance the night away.
The odds are that you’ve more than one dinner date penned into your calendar already. Why not be the Lady In Red? This rust-red tailored dress is total class & really deserves to be accessorised with this vintage Chanel jewellery. We’ve chosen light, neutral tones to create a light, summery feel to a very sophisticated ensemble. Bon Appetit!
Whether you’re hard at work labouring over the BBQ or setting up an elegant picnic by the river, the simple fact is Summer is HOT and you will be TOO! This white cotton dress is exactly what Audrey Hepburn would be sporting to any daytime event this season. Pair with this woven straw bucket bag (can you see it’s bamboo handles!) and striped espadrilles to complete the look.
We’re all about the vibrant tones and energetic print on this new shift dress. If finding the exact coral or chartreuse accessories scares you, these new suede heels in a soft silver grey will do the trick. Really, this dress can take you almost anywhere – baby shower, bridal shower, sun shower – it’s too pretty not to wear every other day.
Why not sparkle? If you’re feeling like it’s your time to shine, then boy, have we got the blouse for you. This pussy-bow blouse looks divine tucked into a black skirt or trousers for a flawless evening outfit. Play on the metallic tones with the Mother of Pearl clasp on this clutch & chunky crystal earrings.
We all have those days where we want to leave the house in all black – it’s a sophisticated statement that can do no wrong, gives us an instant confidence boost & let’s be honest, is wildly flattering. But if you want to shake things up a bit, try experimenting with fabrics. Velvet spots on this blouse look fantastic over these wet-look skinny jeans. Our new studded pumps add a little RockNRoll, perfect for Friday night drinks.
