Everyday Essentials
It’s easy (and fun, let’s admit it) to get caught up in all the latest trends, what’s new for the next season and who’s wearing what…but it’s important to also take a step back every now and then and revise your ‘everyday uniform’. What is it in your wardrobe that you live in? Does something need to be refreshed? Has your lifestyle changed and you need a few different pieces to fill in any gaps? This week our focus is on essential pieces for any wardrobe.
Here we have a little twist on the old checked shirt & white jeans. These are ‘go-to’ garments that can be dressed up or down. The blue denim strip and waist detailing on our new jeans adds interest and elongates the leg – pair with a knit and patent pumps in the evening or sporty sneakers during the day. The shirt has a beautiful soft, blouse like structure but also features a relaxed collar and large cuff.
A trans seasonal coat – medium weight that can take you through from Autumn to Spring – is a must have for Brisbane. This denim coat ticks all the boxes: it’s edgy, versatile and the right length for pants or dresses.
If you’re just easing your way into a more casual wardrobe then opting for an elegant, off duty look is a the right place to start. This cream and black ensemble is given a modern twist with a pearl & bee studded belt.
Yes, animal prints are having a HUGE moment in fashion, but there’s a reason for its traction…everyone can pull it off. This cheetah print has a taupe undertone, so will look great over denim, creams and black. Try knotting it at the waist if you’re wearing high waisted pants.
For a relaxed style that you can live in, our techno pants ( in shades of navy, taupe and chocolate) can’t be beaten. They are quite a skinny fit, so on days where you feel like a little more coverage, wear them with an oversized silk shirt. This shirt has muted shades of navy, black and blue and looks just as stunning with cigarette pants and pumps at night!
Introducing the casual trouser: it’s a breathable cotton, light weight and wonderfully soft. The perfect alternative to denim, this is the perfect piece for busy weekends and holidays. More of a boyfriend cut, it looks best cuffed at the ankle, styled with fashion sneakers and a fitted top.
Did you see these trousers in our previous blog (Perfect Match)? Here they are again in a casual ensemble, with a simple white t-shirt & denim jacket. The bronze studs on the jacket work with the trousers & the overall effect is a fun outfit perfect for those occasions where you want to look effortless & fabulous all at once.
Just arrived in store is an ivory broderie anglaise blouse with cinched wrists and a round collar. Nice and relaxed, this is a cool, breathable fabric for summer that still provides enough coverage. Wear over fitted pants such as these, or tuck into a skirt for a more feminine feel.
If you haven’t already noticed, we’ve a small obsession with shades of blue at The LBD Shop…and a huge one with all things navy. It is such a great alternative to black and suits nearly all complexions. Here, a french navy knit has white piping that tapers in at the waist – very flattering. It’s slightly cropped, so looks best with mid or high rise pants.
Navy strikes again…but you should have expected that by now! For an all rounder jacket, look no further than this tailored piece in crisp cotton with clean lines. Just pop it over your everyday look for a casual, sophisticated feel.
Achieving that laid-back luxury vibe is all to do with investing in luxurious fabrics and thoughtful tailoring. This sweater stands out from the rest due to its beautiful raspberry red knit thats speckled with hints of metallic flecks. Further more, it features the labels signature crystal stud and beautiful little buttons all down the back! When you pop it over tailored, drill cotton pants, your look is complete.
With the first day of Autumn this week and little patches of rain already hitting us, it’s time to start thinking about your winter knits. The juxtaposition of a soft, cashmere sweater with straight leg trousers creates a fantastic contrast and really achieves that ‘cosy whilst elegant’ feel. Don’t be afraid to mix your more casual pieces with what you might consider to be ‘work’ trousers this season.
