The DAYTIME EVENT Edit
It’s that time of the year…
When the Jacarandas begin to bloom, your calendar fills up overnight and there are whispers of Christmas getaways – it can only mean one thing. Here is our daytime event edit for the Silly Season that is fast approaching!
The beginning of Spring in Brisbane has to be one of our favourite times of the year – the weather is magical, each weekend there is a wedding or lovely lunch to attend and of course, there’s the Spring Racing carnival!
Now, here’s what to wear:
If the dress code is ‘Smart Casual’ but your mission is to turn heads, the answer is a statement hat! A beautiful print shirt and simple trouser is elevated in style by adding this oversized ink straw hat.
Off to the races and need to look picture perfect? This is the outfit for you! It’s totally chic and ticks all the boxes for the dress code – but better yet – you can always wear the jacket, skirt and singlet separately!
If you want to shake things up at your next long luncheon, consider this fabulous print shirt. With a dark french navy base and warm floral motif, you can pare it back easily with pants or a simple skirt in your wardrobe. The voluminous sleeves are at once feminine and on-trend. Add some killer pumps and you’re ready to go.
Audrey Hepburn would give this look a big YES! Inspired by her timeless elegance and confident sense of style, this meticulously tailored dress has been accessorised to keep the look monochromatic. The whole effect is a modern twist on a classic concept.
For all the lucky ladies out there with a bit of height or legs that have no end, try approaching the humble shirtmaker dress in a new light. If you’re ducking out from the office mid week and need to quickly ‘jchoozze’ (you know what I mean) your outfit, add a fun, print shirtmaker as an overcoat. The unexpected layering is a fashion forward move that instantly transforms your look!
Need to impress? This is the dress. It is absolutely beautiful, featuring two-tone lace with a scalloped hem. A wardrobe staple that you can rely on for a special cocktail function or ladies lunch, simply transform the tone of the outfit with your accessories.
If you are stuck in a rut and seem to be wearing shades of black, white and navy (we’ve all been there), it’s time to introduce a little vibrancy back into that wardrobe! Inject some colour and surprise all your friends with this orange pleated skirt. We love it with an emerald green top, but it looks just as beautiful with hot pink, red, navy and purple!
The beauty of this dress is its versatility. Here, we have styled it for Derby Day, however you can also jazz it up for a cocktail party with some statement earrings and heels. Conversely, you can add a cropped blazer and black pumps for an elegant corporate ensemble. P.S. the black side panel which ties in at the waist is terribly flattering as it alludes to a beautiful hourglass silhouette!
That’s a match! Literally – that’s a match print all over the top and we LOVE it. It is fun, quirky and totally different. When you’re not sure what to wear, pants and a ‘nice top’ is an easy go-to ensemble. Styling this versatile shirt with white pants gives it a fresh, summery feel for any daytime date. A simple solution if you’re a woman on the go!
This crushed silk suit exudes luxury, elegance and class. With a round collar, white stitching optional matching belt, this is a lovely look for the tasteful Mother of The Bride or when you want to make an impression at your next function. This is a set you can wear all year round, day to night. Invest now & enjoy it for years to come!
Bringing back a little romance to our lives is this darling cotton poplin pink dress. There is also a coral belt at the back which can be brought to the front if you like to accentuate your waist. This outfit is gorgeous for a wedding guest, cocktail function, the races or a special lunch.
